Peter Kuo, Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mr. Kuo has over 20 years of experience in technology investing and tech banking, both in Silicon Valley as well as globally. Mr. Kuo is a co-founding partner of Canyon Bridge, a $1 billion private equity firm focused on technology transactions. Prior to co-founding Canyon Bridge, Mr. Kuo was a managing director at Lazard and Cowen. He began his investment career at Pacific Venture Group, an Asia-based VC firm and also practiced law at Davis Polk & Wardwell, and during his career has advised leading multinational tech companies.

A Fulbright Scholar, Mr. Kuo holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a BS in foreign service from Georgetown.

Timothy Chen, Director

Since February 1997, Mr. Chen has held numerous positions with VIA Technologies, Inc. (“VIA Technologies”), a global leader in the development and manufacturing of integrated circuits, embedded technology platforms and systems. Mr. Chen oversees business development at VIA Technologies and is involved in ventures that range from premium content providers and hardware companies from the semiconductor level to systems integrators that enable the application of a wide variety technologies in end-use sectors including AI, IoT, computer vision, autonomous vehicles, healthcare, and smart city applications. Since 2017, Mr. Chen has been China CEO of VIA Technologies. Mr. Chen has also served as the Head of Global Sales & Marketing at VIA Technologies since February 2010. Mr. Chen is also a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and a Fellow of the China Fellowship Program and member of the Aspen Global Leadership Networks.

Mr. Chen holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. Chen is also involved in social ventures, social media, premium content providers, and hardware companies at the semiconductor & system level.

Ker Zhang, Secretary and Director

Dr. Zhang is a technology expert with over 30 years of hard tech experience as an engineer, executive, entrepreneur, CEO, Chairman and investor. Dr. Zhang is currently an Entrepreneur in Residence at Kleiner Perkins, a position he has held since 2018 and also the Executive Chairman of Crossbar Inc., a Kleiner Perkins portfolio company that develops innovative memory technology. Dr. Zhang also advises Intel Capital and serves on the board of several of its portfolio companies. Prior to this, he was Vice President and General Manager of Intel’s CDMA product and development group. Dr. Zhang was the CEO of VIA Telecom from 2002 until it was acquired by Intel in 2015.

Dr. Zhang earned his M.S. in physics from the University of Massachusetts and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He holds 3 US patents.

John Hui, Independent Director

Mr. Hui specializes in technology investing and has founded several technology hardware companies. Since September 2010, Mr. Hui has served as Chief Strategy Officer at Foxconn Technology Co Ltd, the leading multinational electronics manufacturing company. Mr. Hui has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Joui International since January 2015. Mr. Hui served as Chairman of the Board Of Directors of privately-held Smart Technologies from October 2016 until December 2018. Mr. Hui also served as the Chief Executive Officer of LCD manufacturer InFocus from September 2009 until June 2016, and founded PC manufacturing companies Everex and eMachines.

Mr. Hui holds a B.Sc. in Business from State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University.

Charles Huang, Independent Director

Mr Huang is a co-founder of American electronic entertainment company, RedOctane, and the co-creator of the Guitar Hero video game franchise. He currently serves as CEO of Indigo 7.

Mr. Huang holds BA’s in Economics and Asian Studies from the University of California at Berkeley, where he currently serves as the Vice Chair of the UC Berkeley Foundation.

Dr. Walden Rhines, Independent Director

With over 45 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Dr. Rhines is widely recognized as an expert in business value creation and technology for the semiconductor and electronic design automation (EDA) industries. Dr. Rhines’ technical expertise includes semiconductor design, process engineering and manufacturing as well as financial modeling of trends and value creation. From 1995 until 2015, he served as a director of TriQuint. He is CEO Emeritus of Mentor, a Siemens Business and an electronic design automation company, having previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Mentor from its acquisition by Siemens Industry, Inc. in March 2017 until October 2018. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Mentor Graphics Corporation from 1993 and chairman of its board of directors from 2000 until the acquisition of Mentor Graphics by Siemens in 2017. Prior to joining Mentor Graphics, he spent 21 years at Texas Instruments, a semiconductor manufacturer, with his most recent position as the Executive Vice President of its Semiconductor Group with responsibility for its worldwide semiconductor business. Dr. Rhines also served as a director of Cirrus Logic, Inc., a semiconductor company, from 1995 to 2009, is a member of the board of Electronic System Design Alliance, a trade association for electronic design companies, and serves on the board of Semiconductor Research Corporation, a technology research consortium, and as a consultant to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), a research investment arm of the U.S. government.

Vincent Tsai, Managing Director

Mr. Tsai has over 15 years of experience in technology investing, tech banking and operationally building tech-focused businesses primarily in Silicon Valley. He was previously a Partner at Left Coast Ventures, Chief Investment Officer at ONEHOPE Inc. and on the founding team of Leeo, Inc. Prior to that, he was a Principal at Hercules Capital. He began his investment career at Macquarie Capital and also was an investment banker at Deutsche Bank.

Mr. Tsai attended Columbia Business School and Princeton University.

Sumeet Mehra, Managing Director

Mr. Mehra has over 18 years of experience in technology investing and technology investment banking. During his career, Sumeet has been involved in more than $75 billion in transactions in the technology industry and specializes in complex, cross-border situations. Before joining PTK, he was a Managing Director at Canyon Bridge, a technology focused private equity firm with $1bn assets under management. Prior to that, he was a technology investment banker at Lazard. He started his career in the M&A group at Morgan Stanley in New York.

Mr. Mehra holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and Bachelor in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology.
